Table Names and Numbers

November 30, 2009 - Leave a Response

The trend that has been going around the last few years is to name your tables using a theme.  Some of my brides have done this while others have used numbers, but we have personalized them to match their wedding colors.

Here is a table number that was used for a 4th of July wedding.

If you don’t want to use numbers, you can use a theme.  I have seen many themes including places the couples have visited, tropical locations, cities of all the guests, wine/chocolates, hotels, movies, songs, names of flowers, countries, street names, etc.  The possibilities are endless!

Here is a table name from the wine/chocolate theme.

I enjoy personalized table names and numbers and guests really pick up on little details like this.  It adds to your table arrangements and ties everything in with your wedding.  Detail pictures turn out better when everything matches rather than having an awkward big number 4 stuck on your table.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions or are interested in having these made for your wedding.

Enjoy the rest of your week 🙂

Some of my favorite favors!

November 28, 2009 - Leave a Response

From working weddings with Dana, to weddings I have helped plan, to weddings I have attended, I have seen a LOT of favors.  I wanted to share a few of my favorites for all you brides who are figuring out all the little details for your special day.  Enjoy!

The Candy BarGuests are encouraged to take a bag or box, that is personalized by the bride and groom, and fill up with their favorite candies for after the reception.  You don’t have to do it with just candy – cookies work great too!

Wine Bottles

Lauren and Chris brewed this wine themselves!  They went with a chocolate/wine theme for table names and bottles of wine were a great addition to the wedding.  The bottles were personalized with labels and all the guests enjoyed leaving with a little reminder of Lauren and Chris’s big day!

Measuring Spoons

Two of my friends, who are both professional chefs, gave these measuring spoons to their guests.  I wasn’t able to go to the wedding but my friend Erin brought back a set of the spoons and I loved them!  They fit the couple perfectly 🙂 Personalize them with a bow of one of your wedding colors.

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

Hi!  My name is Brittany Barham and I am the proud owner of Brittany Barham’s Platinum Events.  I am so excited to share my event planning experience with you and I hope you get some fun ideas for your own event!

This is my first blog post as my website has officially gone live today, November 5, 2009 at 10:40 AM.  I have been working on this for months so it has become a part of me and I am so thrilled to share it with EVERYONE!  Please visit, if you haven’t already, to check out pictures, services, and prices.

I have to thank everyone who has supported me in starting my own business.  This experience has taught me a lot and I am so glad I pursued my dreams to accomplish it.  I really have to thank my mom and dad for believing in me and pushing me to try this out.  Thanks Trey and Rachel (my wonderful brother and awesome future sister) for giving me advice on colors, pictures, name ideas, and for the support over the last 5 years to just do this already!  I have to thank the City of Portsmouth for requiring me to get a business license which led me to the Commissioner of Revenue’s office, where I met my wonderful and supportive boyfriend Bryan.  Thanks for not being scared of dating a wedding planner.

My future blog posts will focus on elements of planning events, from invitations, flowers, favors, decoration ideas, etc.  I will also showcase some of the events I have helped plan in the past as well as in the future.  Thank you for checking out my blog and come back for more ideas of Platinum Events!
